In the animal kingdom, we often hear about mother nature, with wild dad’s getting a bad rep as absentee fathers, leaving mum to hold the baby. But that’s not always the case! Silverback gorillas known for their undeniable strength have a much softer side when it comes to being doting dads. While male lumpfish stand guard over hundreds of thousands of eggs proving that size is not all that matters! And penguin parents can be same-sex couples, so some lucky chicks get double dads! Meanwhile Hyenas are some of the most downtrodden dads on the planet. The females call all the shots. And it's not just Hyenas that like to be fluid! When it comes to Pipefish parenting it’s the dads that are ‘pregnant’! So, forget what you’ve heard about mother knowing best as we celebrate some of the best and most unusual wild dads on the planet!
